One of the biggest tournament series of the entire year is nearly upon us, as the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) prepares to roll into the city of London from February 2^nd through the 12^th. This is the second stop of the EPT's historic Season 10 and if the turnout in Barcelona is any indication, the EPT London could be one for the record books.

PKR Poker Pro in Hot Water after Scamming Backers

One of the top young talents in the game is being called out for some incredibly shady behavior regarding his 2026 World Series of Poker stake. EPT Snowfest winner Vladimir "Beyne" Geshkenbein, a poker pro at PKR Poker, has admitted to blowing through his WSOP stake, some $84,000, and using the money plus subsequent winnings from earlier events at the WSOP to gamble and pay off prior debts according to a thread on 2+2.

Because of his behavior, Geshkenbein found himself felted prior to the Main Event (which was supposed to be included in the stake) and had to appeal to his backers for forgiveness and to absolve him of his agreement. Obviously they wanted to be made whole, so after working out a deal, that included him being staked by another person in the Main Event, he managed to make a deep run in the WSOP Main Event, but has not been heard from since, leaving his original backers out in the cold.

The situation is at times hard to follow, as you'll have to go though some foreign language poker forums and posts, but fortunately, one of the backers posting as "mo3rtelmu" on 2+2, summed up the situation thusly:

- vlad sold 84k sched on pstrategy for wsop incl main @1.6mu, general package was at v reasonable mus and considered a good deal

-wsop starts well w deepruns/cashes

-~3hs b4 mainevent day 1c, he comes in the thread and admits he degened our money away w cg/sng/paying personal depts

-says he needs to cancel our deal and other backer offers him a 1timedeal which he has to accept to recoup funds for us + otherwise he cant play main

-he goes deeper and deeper, stakers are raging and angry, skype group of victims is founded which produces the aquivalent of 200 doc pages in ~5days

- we reach VG and negotiate for a deal which gives us action in case of FT (his max offer was full package refund if he makes top 27)

-vlad agrees to the deal if all stakers agree and the public bashing stopped, some stakers disagree, vlad says we dont have a deal and he wont negotiate during ME (meaning his original “offer” of 840$/% incase of top 27 and 637$/% (main*mu) counts atm, vlad stops communicating

- he finishes in 62th place

What's more puzzling is that nobody has brought up the possibility that Geshkenbein may have still had the Main Event stake money and attempted to cancel the backing deal citing a "new" backer as the reason he would then be able to play. Which would allow him to freeroll (actually more than freeroll as he charged a 1.6 markup for the Main Event) the tournament.

For me, the most interesting part of the story is the failure of PKR Poker to distance themselves from Geshkenbein. Instead the site has deleted a corresponding thread in their forum, and has taken no action against the young Russian pro that has basically been the face of the site for the past two years. Unlike other similar situations where accusations have been made, in this case Geshkenbein has admitted to screwing his backers, and it reflects poorly on PKR to pretend there is nothing going on.

As referenced in the 2+2 thread, this is not Beyne's first brush with trouble in poker. In 2026 he admitted to cheating at the iPoker network in order to win their jackpot Sit & Go promotion (twoplustwo/54/poker-beats-brags-variance/beat-banned-life-217177/). PokerStars Releases Schedule for Historic Season X of the EPT

On February 28, 2026 The European Poker Tour (EPT) will turn 10, when Season X of the popular poker tour kicks-off with a stop in Barcelona. While very little was made of the historic 10^th Anniversary of the tour when PokerStars released the Season X schedule on Monday, going by the site's history with their own 10^th Anniversary it's a good bet that PokerStars has some special events planned for Season X of the PokerStars EPT.

11 Players Confirmed for Party Poker Premier League VI

With the tournament just over two weeks away the roster for the Party Poker Premier League VI is starting to take shape, with well over half of the 16 total participants now confirmed –11 players have reserved their spots at the Party Poker Premier League VI tables. The invite-only $125,000 buy-in event will begin on February 17^th, 2026 during the European Poker Tour (EPT) London tournament series, and will likely be one of the most talked about events of the year.

The Premier League uses a unique format where players earn points in preliminary rounds before moving on to a more standard final table: 16 players will be split into two groups of eight with each player participating in four league matches with the top three from each group automatically qualifying for the final table. 50 Events on EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final Schedule

On Tuesday PokerStars and the European Poker Tour (EPT) unveiled their schedule for the Season 9 Grand Final tournament series, and what a schedule it is, with 50 different events for players to choose from. There are a number of highlighted events on the schedule, with the €10,000 Main Event leading the charge, along with a €100,000 Super-High-Roller event, a €25,000 High-Roller tournament, a €10,000 High-Roller Turbo tournament, and a €1,000 buy-in No Limit Holdem event with a €500,000 guarantee attached to it.

The Grand Final is by far the biggest event on the EPT schedule, and save a single year the tournament is always held in Monte Carlo, one of the ritziest and most famous destinations in the world, located on the French Riviera. Dominik Nitsche Wins WPT South Africa

German poker pro Dominik Nitsche is now just a European Poker Tour (EPT) win away from becoming the latest Triple Crown winner in poker after the rising star won the World Poker Tour (WPT) South Africa Main Event at the Emperors Palace Hotel Casino. Nitsche, defeated the 222 player field that included a number of top tournament pros like Liv Boeree, Melanie Weisner, Joe Cada, Chris Moneymaker, and McLean Karr.

Nitshce entered the final day of the tournament as the chip-leader, holding a sizable lead over the rest of the field, and carried that momentum to the title, defeating Jerome Bradpiece in heads-up play for the title. Bradpiece managed to overtake Nitsche for the chip-lead during the heads-up match, but his run was short-lived as Nitsche came marching back after flopping Top-Pair Top-Kicker with AK; the match ended shortly thereafter with Nitshce's A4s holding up against Bradpiece's JTs of the same suit.

The win is the second major tournament victory for Nitsche this year –Nitsche won a $1,000 WSOP event this past summer, collecting over $650k in prize-money—to go along with his Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT) victory back in 2026. Nitsche now has over $2.2 million in career tournament earnings.

The World Poker Tour will now return state-side for the Jacksonville Fall Poker Scramble, which will take place just after the presidential election, as the Main Event is scheduled for February 9^th through the 13^th.

Weisner wins $1k tournament in South Africa

Melanie Weisner also picked-up a win during the tournament series, capturing her first live-tournament victory in a $1k side event. Weisner bested a field of 133 players in the 6-Max NLHE tournament, adding over $40,000 to her career tournament winnings.

Roland De Wolfe: The Second Man Who Won the Poker Triple Crown

There are only two players who won poker’s Triple Crown – World Poker Tour (WPT) title; European Poker Tour (EPT) title and the World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet. Roland de Wolfe is the second man who gained the three titles when he won $5,000 Pot Limit Omaha 8 bracelet this year. He even wore a Union Jack track suit during the final table of the WSOP game to tell the world that he’s proud to be an Englishman.

The first poker pro who won the Triple Crown was Gavin Griffin. He won in $3,000 Pot Limit Hold ‘Em in 2026 to gain his WSOP bracelet; he gained the EPT Grand Final Title in 2026 and he won the WPT Borgata Classic in 2026.
