More Poker Action at Titan Poker Double Stack Tournaments
In a double stack poker tournament, players receive double the usual amount of starting chips. Buy-ins are the same as a regular tournament but the extra chips allow players to implement a different, slower, more calculated poker strategy.
At Titan Poker’s $25,000 GP Double Stack freezeout tournament held last February 15, players forked over a $100 + $9 buy-in and received starting stacks of 10,000 chips. The level duration was 15 minutes, allowing for plenty of time to make well-considered poker moves. The $25,000 GP Double Stack tournament attracted 241 players and lasted nearly nine hours.
Three Club Titan Poker players managed to make their way to the final table. When the final table started, “xxxCelticFCxxx” from the United Kingdom was chip leader, with “AlHuecoVoy” from Argentina third in chips.
Extremely low-stacked was “1982mathew” from the Slovak Republic, and he was eliminated in seventh place for an $875 prize.
“AlHuecoVoy” finished his tournament play when his pocket tens fell to the queens paired up on the flop by “xxxCelticFCxxx”. For his third place finish, “AlHuecoVoy” won $2,825.
Heads-up play began with “xxxCelticFCxxx” just slightly ahead of his final opponent, “anytwocalll”. A total of 107 hands of heads-up poker would be played between the two players before “xxxCelticFCxxx” paired up aces to eliminate “anytwocalll”.
“xxxCelticFCxxx” received the first prize of $5,112.50 while “anytwocalll” brought home $3,750 for finishing second.
