159 Players Remain in Star-studded EPT Deauville Main Event
We've just hit February on the tournament and we've already seen four huge tournaments take place, a very good sign for tournament poker moving forward. It all started with the 2026 PokerStars PCA series was a rousing success, followed by a trip halfway across the world for the Aussie Millions and another multi-million dollar tournament series, and at the same time the WPT Borgata Winter Open drew a field of over 1,000 players.
The latest tournament to continue this trend is the EPT Deauville Main Event, which attracted a field of 782 players, and generated a prize-pool of over €3.7 million; €770,000 of which is set aside for the winner of the event. Even though the tournament's attendance was down markedly from last year when 890 players hit the poker tables in Deauville, this will still be one of the biggest EPT events of the year.
Heading into Day 3 of the tournament a number of big names are still alive and well in the event including Zimnan Ziyard and Sam "Squid" Grafton, both of whom finished with Top 10 chip counts at the end of Day 2. Other well-known players in the hunt are Jason Koon, Pascal Lefrancois, Phillipe Boucher, Casey Kastle, Matthias de Muelder, Matthew Frankland, Fabrice Soulier, Freddy Deeb, Ionel Anton, Todd Terry, Sandra Naujoks, Steve O'Dwyer, Vanessa Rousso, Ana Marquez, and Aubin Cazals.
Here is a look at the Top 10 chip counts heading into Day 3 of the EPT Deauville Main Event:
- Andrei Stoenescu — 485,600
- Zimnan Ziyard — 380,200
- Hugo Pingray — 374,400
- James Mitchell — 372,400
- Cyril Andre — 370,600
- David Ostrom — 368,400
- Vladimir Velikov — 351,200
- Stephane Benadiba — 340,500
- Kevin Miannay — 340,500
- Andrei Konopelko — 335,900
And here is a look at the payouts for the final table of the tournament:
- 1st place: €770,000
- 2nd place: €475,000
- 3rd place: €275,000
- 4th place: €215,000
- 5th place: €165,000
- 6th place: €125,000
- 7th place: €87,800
- 8th place: €60,000
Day 3 of the tournament will get underway at Noon local time, and the field is expected to burst the money bubble early on Day 3, as 120 players will take home a payday at the 2026 EPT Deauville Main Event.
After Deauville the EPT will head to London in early February for one of the biggest tournaments of the year, the EPT London. From there it is on to Berlin in February, and then the Grand Final in Monte Carlo in early February.
